Did We Exist?

Several years ago, just before I retired, I took a quick pass through McNally SmithCollege of Music, to document some of the acoustic treatments my tenure there created. That is documented here, somewhere, I’m pretty sure. Yesterday, I visited the remains of the school to look at the items that will be auctioned off this week. The evidence of my existence and participation in that facility are vanishing quickly.

Had to check the idiotic box. Not you or your pictues but the school and it's awful management.

It’s sad to think of what might have been -- if only there had been some actual interest from the “namesakes”. A friend of my wife had just decided to go there right before they closed. Luckily for him no money exchanged hands.

Yeah, that is luckier than you think, too. The school's owners would have taken his money knowing full well the school would be closed and he'd be cheated out of the tuition. I do not know how that is not fraud, but we're in a society that does not recognize white collar crime as prosecute-able. If you are poor, miss a parking ticket hearing and you're going to jail. If you are rich, feel free to take anything you want from anyone who is not richer than you.

According to the papers a half million dollars was stolen from 2018 spring semester student tuition. If the school was spending the next years money more than a couple of people had to know the doors were closing.

If we weren't at a time when the federal government is completely disabled by incompetence and laziness and corruption, several of the people who were in positions to know what was going to happen would be looking at criminal charges. As it is, white collar criminals are set to make a killing for at least the next 2 years.

Wirebender Audio Rants

Over the dozen years I taught audio engineering at Musictech College and McNally Smith College of Music, I accumulated a lot of material that might be useful to all sorts of budding audio techs and musicians. This site will include comments and questions about professional audio standards, practices, and equipment. I will add occasional product reviews with as many objective and irrational opinions as possible.
